City Crews Repair Abandoned Service Line at Sunrise Blvd and NE 20th Ave

Update: Wednesday, March 27 at 7:50 a.m.

Crews repaired an abandoned service line overnight. The traffic impacts described below remain in effect as crews are in the process of completing the final stages of adding lime rock and compacting the area. The City's asphalt team has mobilized to restore the road as soon as compaction is complete. This post will be updated once all lanes reopen.

City crews are responding to a possible water main break at the southeast corner of Sunrise Boulevard and NE 20th Avenue.

Traffic Impacts

  • Two eastbound lanes of Sunrise Boulevard are closed between NE 17th Way and just east of NE 20th Avenue.
  • Sunrise Boulevard is not accessible from northbound NE 20th Avenue. Traffic is being detoured to NE 9th Place, NE 18th Avenue, NE 9th Street and NE 17th Way.
  • Left turns from westbound Sunrise Boulevard to southbound NE 20th Avenue are not permitted. Traffic is being detoured west on Sunrise Boulevard to NE 17th Way.

While repairs are underway, drivers should follow posted signs, drive with caution in the area and seek alternate routes if possible.
