Assistant to the Village Manager/Communication Manager Nicole Castagna Starts on July 17, 2023

FLOSSMOOR, ILLINOIS - July 17, 2023 - The Village of Flossmoor has hired Nicole Castagna to serve as the Assistant to the Village Manager/Communications Manager. Nicole will manage all aspects of public information and communications management, marketing and public relations, including print materials, electronic communications and social media, for the Village of Flossmoor.

The Assistant to the Village Manager provides support and coordination on regular tasks and special projects in the Manager's Office and the Building and Zoning Department including in the areas of economic development and business marketing.

Nicole Castagna is a communications professional, who has served non-profit organizations in the South Suburbs for more than 20 years. She most recently played an integral part on the award-winning District 233 Homewood-Flossmoor High School communications team as the Communications & Website Coordinator. In this role, she managed the District's website, e-communications, social media accounts, campus tours, publications, and photography and graphic design needs for more than a decade. Inspired by a family tradition of community involvement, her previous non-profit communications experience included service to the Homewood-Flossmoor and Oak Lawn Park Districts, as well as the Flossmoor and Steger-South Chicago Heights Public Libraries. She has also contributed freelance articles to the Daily Southtown and Northwest Indiana Times newspapers. Prior to her community relations positions, she worked as a writer and editor for restaurant trade magazines at publishing companies in Chicago. She earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
