State Police arrest Mechanicville woman following Halfmoon Burgla...

On January 18, 2024, State Police of Clifton Park arrested Jessie L. Smith, 34, of Mechanicville, NY, for Burglary in the first degree, Robbery in the second degree, Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, two counts of Assault in the third degree, and Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree.

On January 17, 2024, at about 6:50 p.m., Troopers responded to the reports of a Burglary in progress at a residence in Halfmoon, NY. The suspect had fled the location prior to law enforcement's arrival. The investigation determined Smith reportedly entered the home without permission. While in the home, Smith allegedly physically assaulted and injured the victim. Before fleeing, Smith damaged property in the home and stole items.

Smith was located at her home in Mechanicville, NY, and arrested. She was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing and then arraigned at the Clifton Park Town Court. Smith was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000 cash, a $60,000 bond, or a $300,000 partially secured bond.
