Azusa Pacific University's Department of Theater Arts presents Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express. The show runs from November 9-18 with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m., as well as Saturday matinee shows at 2 p.m. The production takes place in the Warehouse Theater, located on APU's West Campus, at 701 E. Foothill Blvd. in Azusa. Free parking is available. General admission tickets cost $21, with discounted tickets for senior citizens, children, students, and alumni. For tickets, call the Felix Event Center Box Office at (626) 815-5494 or order them online. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended.

Ken Ludwig's clever adaptation of the classic boasts all the glamor, intrigue, and suspense of Dame Agatha's celebrated novel. With a healthy dose of humor to quicken the pace, and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer, in case he or she strikes again. The production is directed by Matthew McCray who also directed APU's recent production of Cinderella.

"Murder on the Orient Express is one of Agatha Christie's most well-known mysteries and it's such a pleasure to get to stage it at APU," McCray said. "Being set on a train presented interesting and unusual design challenges for a stage production. We have crafted a smart and simple set design that will keep the audience guessing to the very end. Whodunit plays are a lot of fun for the creative team and the audience."

APU's plays and musicals are produced through a program of rigorous training. The Department of Theater Arts prepares outstanding, innovative, and influential artists in an ever-growing and multi-faceted performing arts profession.
