MSUM free seminar for social workers focuses on well-being and resilience

Minnesota State University Moorhead's School of Social Work is hosting a free professional development seminar on well-being and resilience among social workers on Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to Noon in the university's Comstock Memorial Union room 105 and via Zoom.

The presentation will focus on how self- and collaborative care align with the NASW Code of Ethics and address individual, supervisory, and organizational practices that support a resilient human services workforce. This seminar offers three (3) hours of Ethics CEUs approved in Minnesota and North Dakota.

The speaker is Brenda Mack, DSW, MSW, LICSW, a behavioral health and wellness consultant, trainer, presenter, researcher, and associate professor in the Social Work Department at Bemidji State University (BSU).

Before joining the BSU faculty, Brenda worked for 20 years as a program manager, outpatient and in-home therapist, and mobile behavioral health crisis responder for a community mental health center. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in social work from the University of North Dakota and a doctorate in social work from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker through the Minnesota Board of Social Work.
