Outdoor Adventure Films Screened at UW April 12

Four adventure films from Reel Rock 18 will be screened at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, in the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the free public event.

For the last two decades, Reel Rock has "shared the biggest stories from the world of climbing, celebrating the human side behind the sport's greatest adventures and achievements."

Films to be screened are "With My Heart," a visionary first ascent on Japan's mythical Mount Mizugaki; "Climbing Never Die," a climbing community held together in war-torn Ukraine; "Jirishanca," a treacherous free ascent of Jirishanca in the Peruvian Andes; and "Yeah Buddy," an exploration of Mallorca's deep-water soloing.

Founded in 2005 by Josh Lowell, Peter Mortimer and Nick Rosen -- creators of the iconic feature documentaries "Valley Uprising," "The Dawn Wall" and "The Alpinist" -- Reel Rock has grown into the premier global platform for award-winning climbing films.

UW's Outdoor Program, in partnership with 7220 Entertainment, sponsors the program.
