On 9 February, the UPC held a meeting and an event to thank the companies supporting the Interdisciplinary Higher Education Centre (CFIS) under the CFIS Partners programme.

Feb 28, 2024

The CFIS Partners programme was launched last summer and currently features the companies Qualcomm, Esperanto Technologies, Semidynamics Technology Services and G-Research, which contribute to providing grants for its students. The CFIS has 200 university students from across the country and offers interdisciplinary education based on an intensive curriculum leading to graduation with two UPC bachelor's degrees.

The meeting with the collaborating companies was held at the Office of the Rector of the UPC in Barcelona. It was attended by representatives of the companies, rector Daniel Crespo, CFIS board president David Marin, who is also a member of the UPC's Board of Trustees, CFIS director Miguel Ángel Barja and CFIS assistant director of External Relations Maria Alberich.

The CFIS grant programme, which supports accommodation for out-of-town students and international mobility stays for all its students to work on their bachelor's theses, is funded with donations from foundations (currently the Mir-Puig Foundation), UPC Alumni, through the CFIS crowdfunding programme, and the new Partners programme.
