MPD Arrests Teen in Northeast Homicide

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch announce a man has been arrested for a homicide in Northeast, D.C.

At approximately 3:28 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, Sixth District officers responded to the 4600 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a shooting victim with non-life-threatening injuries. A second shooting victim was located inside of a vehicle. After all life-saving efforts failed, the second victim was pronounced dead. The surviving victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The decedent was identified as 18-year-old Tyreek Moore, of Northeast, D.C.

On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 17-year-old Tyree Bratcher, of Southeast, DC. He has been charged as an adult with Second Degree Murder while Armed.

This case remains under investigation. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
