WESTERN CAPE - Two suspects, aged 34 and 36, are scheduled to appear in the Worcester Magistrates' Court for dealing in high grade dagga, worth approximately R7.1 million which was found in their possession during a stop and search on Saturday, 18 November 2023.

On Saturday, 18 November 2023 at about 08:40, members attached to Worcester SAPS acted on information received from the public and pulled over a LDV, suspected of carrying a large consignment of dagga in the trailer. The members accosted the vehicle and ensued with a search which led to the discovery and subsequent seizure of 895kg of dagga concealed in five plastic containers in the trailer.

The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and detained on a charge of dealing in drugs and are scheduled to appear in the Worcester Magistrates' court once they have been charged. Investigation is conducted by our Provincial Organised Crime Narcotics Section.

Provincial management of SAPS praised the members for their commitment and diligence to rid our communities from the scourge of drug distribution and abuse.
