Gilbert Begins Outreach for 10-Year Parks and Recreation Master Plan

Gilbert, Ariz- Want to help plan where you play in Gilbert? Gilbert is developing a 10-year parks and recreation master plan that will guide decision-making for future parks, trails and program offerings. The community is invited to share their thoughts on current and future needs to shape the future of parks and recreation in Gilbert.

There are several ways to provide feedback:

  • Add your biggest and boldest idea to the Idea Wall
  • Provide location-specific feedback using the Interactive Map
  • Start a conversation with other community members on the Public Forum

Some residents may also receive a comprehensive survey in the mail. A digital version will be available later this month at gilbertaz.gov/prmasterplan.

Robert Carmona, Gilbert Parks and Recreation Director, stresses the importance of resident feedback saying, "Parks and recreation offerings, and the public spaces they inhabit, are a critical component to healthy and connected communities. We're excited to kick off the community outreach portion of the Master Plan and our goal is to engage with as many people as possible to help shape the future of parks and recreation in Gilbert."

The team is also planning for several in-person meetings and will be visiting residents in parks, local restaurants, pools and recreation facilities.
