Rep. Ben Cline Votes to Overturn Biden’s ESG Veto, Protect Retirement Savings

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Today, Congressman Ben Cline (VA-06) voted to overturn President Biden's veto of H.J. Res. 30, a resolution that would nullify the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) rule greenlighting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing in retirement plans. The president's veto comes after both the House and the Senate voted in a bipartisan manner to reject DOL's rule."It is shameful that President Biden used his first veto to play political football with Americans' retirement savings,"said Cline."Financial managers should ensure Americans are getting the best retirement possible, not fund Biden's woke ESG agenda. While I am disappointed that Democrats overwhelmingly refused to join House Republicans in support of overturning Biden's veto, I will not stop fighting to protect Americans' hard-earned retirement savings."

Congressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia. He previously was an attorney in private practice and served both as an assistant prosecutor and Member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Cline and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Botetourt County with their two children.
