Suspect Arrested in Shooting on Auburn Boulevard

At approximately 9:40 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024, Sacramento County Sheriff North Patrol Deputies responded to a shooting on the 3300 block of Auburn Way. Upon their arrival, they discovered an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was rather uncooperative with Deputies, providing little to no information regarding the shooting and even initially providing Deputies with a false name. Deputies administered first-aid to the victim until fire personnel arrived when he was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies and Crime Scene Investigators continued their investigation at the scene and were able to identify the suspect as 23-year-old Shawn Currie. A short time later, Deputies located Currie and took him into custody without incident. Currie was subsequently transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he was booked into custody. Currie's booking photo and court information will be made available upon completion of the booking process.

Deputies are still seeking additional video and witnesses and are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Sheriff's Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
