Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Sasha Baker met with Acting Defense Minister Martin Sklenar of Slovakia at the Pentagon, Sep. 7.

The leaders discussed the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Slovakia, and Slovakia's critical value as a NATO Ally and strategic partner for European security. The United States lauds Slovakia's swift action in supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and its progress in meeting the Defense Investment Pledge. The United States values Slovakia's key contributions to the Alliance and knows Slovakia will continue to be an essential partner for long-term regional stability and security, not just for the Slovak people, but for all citizens of a free and democratic Europe.
