TVB Raceday 2023 City’s Star-studded and Vibrant Gathering Moses Chan Makes Hand-drip Coffee to Raise Fund

(19 February 2023) Television Broadcasts Limited ("TVB") and The Hong Kong Jockey Club ("HKJC") today proudly presented the jointly-organised TVB Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse. Mr. Thomas Hui, Chairman of TVB, attended the event with TVB management representatives and more than 40 artistes and title holders of Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2022. In support to this eminent event and all ten races, Mr. Michael Lee, Chairman of HKJC, Mr. Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Chief Executive Officer of HKJC, and representatives of various charitable organisations made their appearances at the racecourse.

Mr. Thomas Hui said, "Horse-racing events have always been important elements that infuse vibrance and vitality into the city, and simultaneously bringing in substantial donations, economic benefits and social values, delivering great social impacts. TVB is absolutely grateful for the wonderful partnership with HKJC over the years. Last year, we migrated horse-racing programmes and auxiliary programmes from J2 to Channel 85, as our strategy to better serve racing fans in all age groups. We are happy to observe that the coverage of these programmes broadcast via our free-to-air channel 85 reached about 1 million audience per week after the migration."

This star-studded occasion was attended by over 250 guests including artistes and celebrities across social sectors and among the racing circles. All guests dressed in a party attire with colours of TVB logo. Another highlight of TVB Raceday was a hand-drip coffee fund-raising session held by Moses Chan. The very first cup of coffee made by Moses successfully raised HK$12,888 for TVB, Staff & Artistes Fund for Charities ("the Fund") donated generously by Mr. Thomas Hui. Donations were then received from the benevolent attendees. To boost the exciting atmosphere, racing tips were provided on-site by Natalis Chan, a famous artiste, and Fong Sir, a well-known horse-racing commentator. TVB Raceday was also supported by performances of singers Jinny Ng, James Ng, and participants of Midlife, Sing & Shine!. Kitty Siu, a famous chef and cooking programme host, prepared a dish with auspicious meaning at the event. Other participants of Midlife, Sing & Shine! performed on-stage at the Public Enclosure, allowing racing fans to take joyful memories home.
