Connections Symposium 2024

Recognizing academic accomplishments of students and to highlight Wittenberg's diversity of experiential learning opportunities, the University community will come together to present the second annual Connections Symposium on Friday, April 19, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The symposium will utilize several locations across campus throughout the day, including Blair Hall, Thomas Library, the Joseph C. Shouvlin Center for Lifelong Learning, and the Benham-Pence Student Center.

Inspired by the Connections Curriculum, launched in Fall 2021, the Connections Symposium helps to foster a sense of community and encourage interactions across disciplines for both faculty and students. It also serves as a chance for students to share their experiences and talents with other students, faculty, staff, and visitors, as well as an opportunity to network, present, and learn from others.

From displaying diverse student-faculty research opportunities and projects, discussing internship experiences, or enjoying art exhibits and musical performances, the Connections Symposium is an annual year-end celebration of the liberal arts and its impact on the Wittenberg student experience. Presentations will include panel discussions, oral presentations, artistic performances, and poster presentations by individual students or groups.

The Connections Symposium is hosted by Wittenberg faculty and is scheduled near the end of the spring semester to make it more feasible for students to present semester-long projects that are wrapping up in the final weeks of the academic year.

Interested students could also present at the Undergraduate Research Symposium on Friday, April 12. Hosted by the Wittenberg Honors Program the Undergraduate Research Symposium invites students from Wittenberg and other colleges and universities to present scholarly research projects on campus. Several students from Walsh University, Wilmington College, and the University of Mt. Union are already registered to attend and present. There is no cost for Wittenberg students to attend and present at either of the symposiums.
