Final Hearing Draft Comprehensive Zoning Code Available for Review

The City of Woodland has released the Final Hearing Draft Comprehensive Zoning Code and related actions for consideration by the Planning Commission and City Council in the coming months.

At their Thursday, May 16 meeting, the Planning Commission will be asked to review and consider recommending City Council approval of the Final Hearing Draft Comprehensive Zoning Code and related actions. A staff report and agenda will be posted on the City's Meetings & Agendas page on or before May 10. However, the Final Draft Code is now available online for your review at the following web address: https://www.cityofwoodland.gov/1168/Documents.

You will find a clean version of the final draft code divisions as well as "redline" divisions that show changes made between the September 2023 Public Review Draft and the latest Public Hearing Draft. A copy of the Zoning Map is also available at the link above. The General Plan Land Use map, which includes proposed amendments based on the code update, will be available by Friday, May 3.

Once adopted, the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance will specify how each individual property can be used to achieve the wide ranging and long term vision set forth by the City of Woodland General Plan. "Zoning" is the body of rules and regulations that control what is built on the ground and what uses occupy buildings and sites. It determines the form and character of development, such as the size and height of buildings, and includes provisions to ensure that new development and uses will fit into existing neighborhoods.
