Hertsmere Developments Limited (HDL) has commenced construction work gets underway

Hertsmere Developments Limited (HDL) has commenced construction work at two sites in Borehamwood.

Clarendon Gardens, Grosvenor Road and Eldon Avenue, the first of a pipeline of projects, will provide apartments of varying housing tenures to meet local need.

HDL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hertsmere Borough Council, established to develop a portfolio of housing and commercial property to support the council's growth and economic development ambitions.

HDL Development Director Josh Summers commented "I am very pleased that HDL has now moved into our delivery phase and will be providing much needed homes for Hertsmere in the 2023-24 fiscal year. I look forward to working with our contractors Parrott Construction Limited and seeing our plans come to fruition."

Parrott Construction Limited were appointed last year and are delivering the construction of both projects for HDL. Clarendon Gardens as well providing homes in two residential blocks will also provide an improved safe pedestrian path through the site to Clarendon Park and a convenient link for Grosvenor Road residents to the high Street.

Councillor Paul Hodgson-Jones, Chairman of HDL, said "The construction of these first sites marks a significant milestone for the company. It is pleasing to achieve this progress at HDL despite a challenging market place.

"This step puts HDL in a strong position to deliver financial returns to Hertsmere Borough Council, our shareholder. We look forward to developing our future pipeline of projects and supporting the council's long term objectives."
