Global Economy

This week global markets are focused on the Fed's policy meeting. Recent higher than expected inflation data will likely translate into a more hawkish-sounding Fed. Rate cuts in the US are still coming, but now later than previously anticipated. I still expect the June or July meetings could see a cut.

South Africa

In South Africa, election season is heating up with many low-quality polls muddying the waters. I share my election scenarios this week, in which I expect the status quo to remain with respect to policy reform and implementation.
