Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue East area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in an assault investigation.

On Sunday, December 31, 2023, at approximately 8:56 a.m., police received a call for an assault in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue East area.

It is alleged that:

  • a Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) was conducting enforcement in the area
  • the driver became confrontational when the PEO served a parking ticket to her vehicle
  • the driver assaulted the PEO
  • the suspect fled the scene, returned a short time later and was arrested

Li Li, 55, of Toronto has been arrested and charged with:

  1. Assault Peace Officer

She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 2 p.m., in room 202.
