"Every year, we have the fortunate opportunity to pause, reflect, honor, and celebrate Black Americans, whose innovation, brilliance, sacrifice, and courage continue to improve our country.

"While we celebrate the historic progress we've made as a nation - building a more equitable future, ensuring our leaders reflect our country's great diversity, and working to combat the systemic challenges facing Black Americans - we know that our work is far from over.
