Road closure signage will be displayed beginning early on October 23, and construction flaggers will be located at the Winfield Road and High Lake Road intersection, the Central DuPage Hospital main entrance and the north side of the closed work area. Residents who live in the closed work area will have access to their homes via Winfield Road.
The closure on October 23 will also impact the hospital's main entrance. Patients should access and exit the campus from the South/Outpatient Entrance located on Jewell Road. Ambulances will have access to the north and south sides of the Central DuPage Hospital campus. The Women's and Children's entrance on Winfield Road will remain open.
Once the initial bridge work is complete on October 23, the lanes on Winfield Road will be rerouted and traffic patterns will change for the next several months. There will be two lanes always open starting Monday, October 25 - one for northbound traffic and one for southbound traffic.
In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be rescheduled for October 24.
The construction of the new 872-space parking structure and pedestrian bridge is the first phase of the Winfield Town Center project. The ground level will include retail space with three upper floors for parking. Completion of the parking structure is expected in spring of 2022. Early site work has begun on a three-story medical office building with first floor retail at Church Street & South High Lake Road. The building is estimated to be completed by the end of 2022.
