Clermont County S.R. 132 222 Roundabout Slated For Construction

Lebanon, Ohio (Saturday, April 20, 2024) - Construction of a roundabout at the intersection of state routes 132 and 222 at Batavia is getting under way this month, and intermittent traffic restrictions will be in effect on both routes beginning next week.

Preliminary work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, April 24, with construction of a retaining wall that will be behind the roundabout. During the first phase of construction, traffic will be maintained in 11-foot lanes on both routes, with intermittent lane closures for crews to enter and exit the work site.

The first phase of construction will continue through early June, and following this, the intersection will be closed for crews to construct the roundabout. At which time, S.R. 132 traffic will be detoured via S.R. 32 East or West, depending on direction of travel, and S.R. 222 traffic will be detoured by way of S.R. 132 and U.S. 50.

The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $2.65 million to complete the project, and all work associated with the project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of this year.
