Singapore, 24 April 2024 - Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, will attend the Petersberg Climate Dialogue (PCD) 2024, in Berlin, Germany, from 25 to 26 April 2024. Minister Fu will also visit Paris, France, for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) from 2 to 3 May 2024.

PCD 2024

2 Singapore's participation in the PCD 2024 is at the joint invitation of the COP29 President-Designate and Azerbaijan Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mr Mukhtar Babayev and German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Ms Annalena Baerbock.

3 At PCD 2024, a select group of Ministers will discuss the actions needed to raise climate ambition in order to keep the 1.5°C global warming limit within reach. Discussions at PCD are expected to support progress in key issues to facilitate a successful COP29, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024.

4 Minister Fu will also meet bilaterally with COP29 President-Designate Babayev as well as counterparts from Germany and other participating COP members to discuss bilateral cooperation and international developments concerning climate change.

OECD MCM 2024

5 While in Paris, Minister Fu will attend the OECD MCM, as well as the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Informal Ministerial Gathering organised by Australia on the sidelines of the OECD MCM.

6 Minister Fu will also have bilateral meetings with counterparts on the sidelines of the official meetings.

7 Minister Fu will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry and National Climate Change Secretariat.
