Three men charged after ongoing investigations into large-scale supply of drugs in the Illawarra Region - Strike Force Gindurra

Raptor Squad detectives have charged three men following an investigation into the large-scale supply of prohibited drugs in the Illawarra Region.

In February 2023, State Crime Command's Raptor Squad South established Strike Force Gindurra to investigate the large-scale supply of cocaine by alleged associates of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMCG) and Organised Crime Networks (OCN) in the Illawarra Region.

Last Thursday (25 May 2023) a 21-year-old man was arrested by Traffic and Highway Command officers attached to Raptor Squad South after being stopped in a vehicle on Sheffield Street in Cringila.

A search warrant was executed at a home on Corrimal Street, Wollongong, where a number of items were seized including white powder which is believed to be cocaine.

The man was charged with 25 offences and was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court, where he was remanded in custody to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 19 July 2023

Following on-going inquiries, three men - one aged 21 and two both aged 42 - were yesterday (Tuesday 30 May 2023) arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station. It will be alleged they were involved in the supply of cocaine in the Illawarra area.

The 21-year-old man was arrested at a unit on Stewart Street, Wollongong. He was charged with participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and two counts of supply prohibited drug>indictable &

The second man was arrested at a home on Sheffield Street, Cringila and charged with supply prohibited drug>indictable &

Officers arrested the third man at a unit complex in Market Street, Wollongong. The man was charged with seven offences including recklessly deal with proceeds of crime <=$5000, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, two counts of self administer/attempt self administer prohibited drug and three counts of supply prohibited drug>indictable &

All three men were refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Wednesday 31 May 2023).
