Both award recipients were chosen for their academic excellence, leadership in community engagement, and communication skills.

Samantha Liu: Liaison Builder, Multi-Award Winner, Joining Visa Inc. After Graduation

Valedictorian Samantha Liu will graduate from Baruch and Macaulay Honors College with a BBA in statistics and quantitative modeling, and minors in human resources management and New York City interdisciplinary studies.

During her time at Baruch, Liu was part of the CUNY College Completion Innovation Fund's (CCIF) Student Advisory Council (SAC). As a senior council member, she served as a liaison between the SAC and CCIF Advisory Board; represented the SAC at the final decision meeting with CCIF members to deliberate funded proposals; and advised more than 30 grant applicants.

At Baruch, Liu was named to the Dean's List and served as an Honors peer mentor in Baruch's Honors First-Year Seminar. She was a two-time recipient of the Baruch Collegiate Association of Women in Business's MVP Award because of her outstanding work as a data analyst and membership activities designer. Liu also received the Financial Women's Association International Study Scholarship in 2022, which helped fulfill her goal of studying abroad in Seoul, South Korea. She is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society.

Since 2022, Liu has been a human resources intern at the Rockefeller Foundation. She also previously worked at the New York City Department of Transportation and Randall's Island Park Alliance. For the past nine years, Liu has volunteered at P.S. 249 The Caton School as a tutor and teaching assistant.

Upon graduation, Liu will join Visa Inc. as an associate in its client services two-year rotation program.

Staci Steinfeld: Baruch Ambassador Pursuing a Career in Legislative Affairs

Staci Steinfeld will earn a BS in public affairs with minors in psychology and law and policy.

Steinfeld is a Dean's Scholar, perennially named to the Dean's List, and member of the Phi Eta Sigma and Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Societies.

During her college career, Steinfeld was passionate about helping fellow students. She served as an undergraduate ambassador for the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs where she connected with prospective students at recruitment events, introduced them to admissions resources, and shared her experiences.

At the Student Academic Consulting Center, Steinfeld was an undergraduate tutor and helped her peers with algebra, economics, and philosophy coursework. Through this experience, she earned her level 1 and 2 certifications from the College Reading and Learning Association.

Steinfeld was also a Dean's Scholars Peer Mentor and active member of Baruch's Books & Beyond club where she served as the secretary.

Steinfeld's extensive internship experience centers on government relations. She has worked for elected officials at the New York City Council, New York State Senate, and New York State Assembly. She is currently a government relations intern at CMW Strategies, a full-service government relations and consulting firm.

In keeping with her family traditions of public service and community engagement, Steinfeld plans to pursue a career in legislative affairs after graduation and initiate policy changes to create a better New York.
