This City's Centennial festivities are coordinated and held in partnership with local non-profits and West Covina businesses. It is the City Council's goal to provide opportunities to gather, celebrate, and connect to commemorate the City's incorporation.

"Our city has come a long way in 100 years." said Mayor, Rosario Diaz, "We look forward to continued growth and progress while celebrating important milestones with our residents."

West Covina was incorporated as an independent city on February 17, 1923, and consisted of acres of walnut and orange groves. In less than 30 years the population ballooned from 769 in 1930 to more than 50,000 by 1960. Today, with a population of more than 110,000 the City of West Covina is constantly striving to provide more services and keep up with the diverse needs of this growing city.

According to City Manager, David Carmany, "We are inspired that for 100 years the City of West Covina has been providing the community with municipal services. Residents and local business are the cornerstone of West Covina."
