The international symposium of Algiers on Imam Mohamed Ben Abdelkrim Al Maghili

The Algiers International symposium "Imam Mohamed Ben Abd El-Karim El-Maghili: Governance, Stability and Unity of African Societies" kicked off today, Monday, in Algiers, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The opening ceremony of this symposium, hosted by the International Conference Centre (ICC) "Abdellatif Rahal", was held in the presence of the President of the National People's Assembly , Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, the President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Omar Belhadj, members of the government and advisors to the President of the Republic, in addition to the Mediator of the Republic, Majid Amour, and the Dean of the Algiers Mosque, Mr. Mohamed. Al-Ma'moun al-Qasimi al-Hassani, head of the Supreme Islamic Council, sheikhs and scholars from Algeria and abroad, descendants of Imam al-Maghili and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria.

In a message to participants read on his behalf by Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, highlighted the exploitsof Imam Al Maghili who registered "his name in history as one of the great scholars in view of his distinguished contributions in the scientific, socio-economic and political fields, and in the spread of consciousness throughout Africa during the 15th century".
