Souris RCMP investigate fatal apartment fire

On December 6, 2023, at approximately 7:40 pm, RCMP responded to a fire at an apartment building in Souris.

When officers arrived, the Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were on scene.

The resident of the apartment, a 70-year-old female, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The fire was contained to the one unit.

Souris RCMP, along with Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.
