Route 5 to close for concrete repairs in Linn and Chariton Counties…

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Missouri Route 5 in Marceline will close under the BNSF Railroad bridge beginning Monday, June 3, for concrete repairs. Capital Paving and Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will also make concrete repairs on Missouri Route 5 in Chariton County under the Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge west of Salisbury beginning Sunday, June 9.

Below is information for each closure:

Linn County Route 5:

  • CLOSED around the clock under the BNSF Railroad bridge in Marceline - Monday, June 3 to Sunday, June 9.
  • Traffic will be directed on U.S. Route 36, Missouri Route 129 and Route WW around the closure.

Chariton County Route 5:

  • CLOSED around the clock under the Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge west of Salisbury - Sunday, June 9 to Sunday, June 16.
  • Traffic will be directed on Route 24, Route KK and Route WW around the closure.

This is part of a project that includes the resurfacing of Chariton County Route 5, Linn County Route 5 and Missouri Route 41 in Carroll County. Crews are currently working on edge rock, rumble strips and striping on all routes.
