Credit Suisse celebrates the 20th Anniversary of its Asian Investment Conference with strong speaker line-up to ask 'Are we at the Beginning of a New Era?'

The AIC is among the world's largest investment conferences in Asia Pacific and one of the most important events for Credit Suisse each year. Now in its 20thyear, the AIC has a long history of attracting heads of State, political and financial leaders, central bankers and monetary policy officials, academics, Nobel prize-winning economists, senior corporate leaders and renowned social thinkers from all parts of the globe.

The four-day conference connects some 2,500 institutional investors, hedge funds and ultra and high-net-worth investors, as well as CEOs and CFOs of over 330 companies, with the world's most influential thinkers and opinion leaders. Around 7,000 private meetings and workshops with clients and corporates are expected to take place on the sidelines of the conference. The AIC provides an incomparable platform to gather investment intelligence, understand macro-economic trends, and share ideas and insights on some of the world's most pressing issues - from fiscal and monetary policies as a stimulant to economic growth, to how technology is revolutionizing business, and the extent to which foreign and social policies will impact economies such as the US, China, Japan and India.

Among the speakers, Credit Suisse is pleased to welcome Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic (2007-2012), who will share his views on the outlook for Europe amid Brexit and rising nationalism throughout the European Union. Taylor, former member of the President's Council of Economic Advisors and former Under Secretary of Treasury for International Affairs, will also be speaking, joined by Fan Jianping, research fellow at China's State Information Centre. This panel of three will share their insights on what the global economy could begin to look like in the current US administration and a post-Brexit world, and how economic, monetary and fiscal policies will be implemented globally to ensure sustainable growth in today's unstable macro climate. Meanwhile, Professor Jing Huang, Lee Foundation Professor on US-China Relations and Director of Centre on Asia and Globalization at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore, will discuss China's current political situation and the transition underway.

Lockhart, former member of the US Federal Open Market Committee and former President and CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will deliver a keynote address examining the past, present and future of American monetary policy in an environment of rising rates. While Dr. Arvind Subramanian, Chief Economic Adviser, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, will discuss the huge changes taking place in that economy, particularly following the demonetization of a substantial portion of the money supply.

The AIC also provides delegates a forum to access alternative perspectives from speakers outside the economic and financial world. Sir Mo Farah CBE, Britain's most successful Olympic athlete in modern times, double Olympic, European and World Athletics champion, will recount the challenges of his childhood in Somalia, his move to Britain, and his meteoric rise to success. He will share not only the lessons and adversity he has faced in his endeavors, but also how open policies of immigration and globalization can have a very personal impact.

The AIC will examine a wide range of topics that will have profound impact on where the future lies. Technology is one of the greatest agents of change in today's world. Innovation, driven by advances in technology, is being shaped by competition and demand trends.
