Armed Violence Arrest

(PEORIA, IL) Friday, May 3, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division (CID) located a stolen vehicle parked at a gas station (Circle K) in the 2900 block of N.E. Adams.

During the course of this investigation officers observed the driver of the stolen vehicle identified as 37-year-old Daniel J. Neltner exit the vehicle and enter the business. Officers followed and placed Neltner into custody without incident.

During a search of Neltner police located a loaded handgun and several types of illegal drugs inside a cross-body bag on Neltner's person.

Neltner was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Armed Violence, and Driving on a Revoked License.

He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
