On December 4th, 2022, Deputy Consul-General Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai represented the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Chicago, to attend the ceremony on the occasion of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Birthday Anniversary, National Day, and Father's Day at Wat Dhammaram, Chicago.
In the first half of the event, Deputy Consul-General was the head of the ceremony, gave an oration, and paid respects to H.M. the King. Then, the Thai community joined in to sing the Thai Royal Anthem and offer alms to the monks.
In the second half of the event, Wat Dhammaram held a ceremony to commemorate National Father's Day, which has included an opportunity for students to pay respect to their fathers. Additionally, this event also included the Father's Day essay writing contest, in which the selected essays were read by the students during the event, including other Thai classical music and dance performances by the students of the Sunday School.
Lastly, the Deputy Consul-General also presided over the award ceremony for the 95 students of the Sunday School of Wat Dhammram who completed the Thai language, Thai classical music, and Thai classical dance courses. The students, fathers, and teachers also received a gift bag of snacks, drinks and facemasks as part of the volunteer efforts on the said occasion.
