The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced the new designs of the Permanent Resident Cards (also known as Green Cards) and the Employment Authorization Document (EADs), beginning January 30, 2023. Changes include improved detailed artwork, tactile printing, enhanced optically variable ink, etc.- all aimed to safeguard national security and improve USCIS services. The new design does not mean that currently issued cards are invalid; current cards are good until they expire (unless otherwise noted). USCIS will continue using the current design until supplies are depleted, so some cards issued after January 30 may still display existing designs.
