The Czech National Bank is issuing a CZK 100 commemorative silver coin depicting the Prosecutor General’s Office

Technical preparation of the coin - in Czech only

On 27 March 2024, the Czech National Bank is putting into circulation a CZK 100 commemorative silver coin depicting the Prosecutor General's Office from the Institutions of the Czech Republic cycle. The coin is minted from an alloy containing 925 parts silver and 75 parts copper and is issued only in proof quality. Proof-quality coins have a highly polished field, a matt relief and a plain edge. The coin is 29 mm in diameter, weighs 9 g and is 1.8 mm thick. As with any other coins, deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. Upward deviations in weight of 0.18 g and silver content of 1% are permitted.

Coin description

The obverse side of the coin depicts a framed composition of the heraldic animals of the Czech Republic. Written around the outer circle of the coin is the text "ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA" and the denomination and abbreviated monetary unit "100 Kč". The text and the denomination and abbreviated monetary unit are separated with a dot at the start and at the end. The mark of the Czech Mint, in the form of the letters "Č" and "M", is located above the frame. The year of mintage "2024" is situated below the frame. The reverse side of the coin depicts the framed logo of the Prosecutor General's Office, with symbols of a weighing scales and a sword above it. Written around the outer circle of the coin is the text "NEJVYŠŠÍ STÁTNÍ ZASTUPITELSTVÍ" followed by a full stop. The initials of the designer of the coin Zbyněk Fojtů, made up of the letters "F" and "Z", are located below the frame.

Each coin comes with a white catalogue card containing a description and the relief of the coin.
