Corrected Closure Date: Hale Street Closing for Return of Outdoor Dining Tents

Please note: This notice has been resent with a corrected date.

Crews will be closing the block of Hale Street between Front Street and Wesley Street during the evening hours of Sunday, April 28 to begin setting up the Hale Street Tents.

From May 3 through Oct. 6, 2024, this block of Hale Street will feature large outdoor tents, providing additional space for outdoor dining that is shared by many nearby restaurants. Managed by the Downtown Wheaton Association, the Hale Street Tents also offer live music and fun. This months-long event has become a community favorite, attracting thousands of diners each year.

This block will remain closed to vehicle traffic through October. Please remember that you may not ride bikes, scooters, skateboards, or skates under the tents or on downtown sidewalks.

You will also find numerous opportunities for outdoor dining and live entertainment in other downtown locations and in Wheaton's other shopping districts during warmer months, too, as many Wheaton restaurants and businesses offer outdoor dining and entertainment. Be sure to check out all that's happening and support the local business community throughout Wheaton.
