Closures on Avery Ave. and Cox St. due to railroad track reconstruction

Beginning Monday, August 15, at about 9 a.m., Avery Avenue between East Parkway South and Hollywood Street as well as Cox Street between Central Avenue and Cowden Avenue will be closed to through traffic to allow the railroad contractor to perform reconstruction of the railroad track crossings at these locations. This closure will be in effect until Friday evening, August 19.

Local traffic will have access on Avery Avenue and Cox Street up to the closure at the railroad tracks.

Motorists who normally use Avery Avenue between East Parkway South and Hollywood Street, as well as Cox Street between Central Avenue and Cowden Avenue are advised to use an alternate route during the days of closure.

The signed detour route for Avery Avenue will make use of East Parkway South, Union Avenue, Hollywood Street and Central Avenue. The signed detour route for Cox Street will make use of Central Avenue, Cooper Street and Cowden Avenue.
