COVID-19 vaccination available without an appointment at the University of Helsinki City Centre Campus

20.09.2021 09:52

Helsinki residents can get the COVID-19 vaccination without an appointment at the pop-up vaccination point at University of Helsinki City Centre Campus on 17 September and 20-22 September from 11:00-15:00. All students and citizens are welcome to get vaccinated.

The vaccination point is located in the Helsinki University Main Library, near the main doors of the Kaisa House.

There are a number of pop-up points all around Helsinki, including in Kamppi, Rautatientori and shopping centres. Information on all pop-up vaccination points can be found on the constantly updated Pop-up vaccination points pages.

'Currently, the vaccination coverage for the first vaccination dose is 76% for 16-19-year-olds, 78% for 20-24-year-olds and 79% for 25-29-year-olds, so there is still a way to go to reach the 80% vaccination coverage among the young people. We offered vaccinations in schools a few weeks ago and in upper secondary level educational institutions in recent weeks. Now we want to offer an easy way for university students to get vaccinated,' says Medical Director Timo Carpèn.

'The University of Helsinki City Centre Campus is very busy with students, and we hope that those who have not yet been vaccinated will do so now,' Carpén continues.

The vaccine can be obtained by showing an ID or Kela card. Vaccinated persons should remain at the location for at least 15 minutes after the vaccination so that the staff can monitor their condition. COVID-19 vaccinations are free of charge.

Both vaccine doses are available from pop-up vaccination points without an appointment. The second dose of the vaccine will be available at pop-up points on a first come, first served basis. The vaccination interval is 6-12 weeks.
