Park & Rec jobs bring the fun, community impact

Want to have fun while making an impact in the Fort Worth community? Consider working in the Park & Recreation Department.

The department maintains more than 200 parks and public spaces and provides recreational activities and educational programming that makes Fort Worth a great place to live, work and play.

Event details: A hiring event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at La Gran Plaza, 4200 South Freeway. On-the-spot interviews will be offered. Walk-ins will be accepted on the day of the job fair, Bring your resume.

Some positions include:

  • Maintenance worker. High school diploma/GED and no experience required. Must have a valid driver's license and must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and criminal background check.
  • Senior maintenance worker. High School diploma/GED required, and three years of general maintenance, park maintenance and/or construction experience. Must have a valid Class C driver's license and must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and criminal background check.
  • Recreation assistant. Applicants must be 16 or older; no experience required. Must pass tuberculosis screening.
  • Community center aide. High school diploma/GED required, and at least six months of experience in recreation or athletic services and programs. Must have a valid driver's license and possess, or have the ability to obtain, CPR, first aid and AED certification during the first six months of employment. Must pass drug screen, physical and tuberculosis screening.
