UAB community will serve Glen Iris Elementary School for Unite Day on May 4

Willing Blazers who volunteer can lend a hand for projects like general cleanup, painting, yard work and more. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Students, staff, faculty and alumni of the University of Alabama at Birmingham will give back to the Glen Iris community for UAB Unite Day on Saturday, May 4.

UAB Unite Day is an annual service tradition sponsored by UAB's National Alumni Society.

Willing Blazers will lend a hand by working on maintenance at Glen Iris Elementary School. Volunteers will work on indoor and outdoor projects like general cleaning, painting, yard work and more.

UAB Unite Day will begin at 8 a.m. at Glen Iris Elementary School, 1115 11th St. South. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for volunteers. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 8 a.m. to receive instructions on the day's tasks. Supplies will be provided, but volunteers are invited to bring their own tools if preferred.

Anyone who would like to participate can register online at the UAB National Alumni Society's website, alumni.uab.edu. Registration closes Thursday, May 2.
