Equinor – Statfjord B – FLX management of late-life maintenance

The audit was conducted from 7 to 23 November 2023.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to monitor that the work of FLX (Equinor's field life extension unit) to evaluate and improve the maintenance of Statfjord B is contributing to the improvement of HSE. There was a further objective of verifying that the work on improving maintenance management ensures that important contributors to HSE risk are identified and followed up, and that there is sufficient staffing and expertise to perform the maintenance and ensure safe operations.

Result

We identified six non-conformities during the audit. These concerned:

• Personal protective equipment for working on electrical switchboards
• Barriers
• Planning
• Maintenance programme
• Security clearance of work
• Classification of systems and equipment

What happens now?

We have asked Equinor to report to us by 19 February 2024 on how the non-conformities will be addressed.
