Dr Jenni Haukio receives P. E. Svinhufvud Memorial Foundation Literary Award

Dr Jenni Haukio, spouse of the President of the Republic of Finland, has received the Literary Award of the P. E. Svinhufvud Memorial Foundation. The award was presented on Friday 15 December 2023 at a ceremony held at Pikkuparlamentti, an annex to the Parliament Building in Helsinki. The award recognises her autobiographical memoir Sinun tähtesi täällä, published in May 2023.

According to the award citation, the book carefully examines the role of the presidential spouse and the presidential institution from a variety of perspectives, as well as the expectations placed on them. The book also provides a first-hand and accessible insight into the role of the spouse as part of the presidential institution.
