Interdepartmental Group - Referendum proposals on family and care

In March 2023, an Interdepartmental Group (IDG) was established to support the development of referendum proposals on family and care.

The group comprised of representatives from every Government Department, as well as the Office of the Attorney General. It met 16 times over the course of its work in a period spanning March to November.

The minutes of those 16 IDG meetings are published here with redactions related to discussions at Cabinet and legal advice received.

As part of it's work, the IDG carried out a public call for submissions. A report of the submissions received as well as a portion of the submissions received are also published here. The remaining submissions are being redacted for personal information and will be published shortly.
