*Update – Suspect in Custody* State Police Investigate Attempted Armed Robbery at CVS in Claymont

The Delaware State Police have identified 47-year-old Shawn Jason of Atlantic City, New Jersey, as the suspect involved in an attempted armed robbery at a CVS in Claymont last month.

On March 8, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., troopers responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery at the CVS, located at 702 Naamans Road in Claymont. A preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown black male suspect entered the store with a firearm, jumped over the pharmacy counter, and demanded drugs from the pharmacist. While the pharmacist attempted to unlock the safe, the suspect fled the store without any proceeds.

Troop 2 Robbery Detectives in collaboration with out-of-state law enforcement agencies developed Shawn Jason as the suspect involved in the robbery and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On April 24, 2024, Jason was located and arrested in Pennsylvania, where he is now incarcerated. Upon extradition to Delaware, Jason will be charged with the crimes listed below.
