President Cao Derong Signs Agreement With Almond Board of California

President Cao Derong visited the California Department of Food and Agriculture in Sacramento, California and had a meeting with secretary Karen Ross on Oct. 25. Pesident Cao said, China and California have very close cooperation in agricultural trade. California's annual exports of 728 million U.S. dollars of almond, pistachios to China are welcomed by Chinese consumers. Secretary Karen Ross welcomed president Cao and mentioned that California is a major agricultural product producer in the United States and looked forward to further strengthening cooperation with China in agricultural trade in the future.
President Cao Derong also held talks with Richard Waycott, the current president of the Almond Board of California, vice president Julia Adams, and the president-elect Clarice Turner. The two parties discussed the work plan for 2024 and signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
While in California, Chairman Cao Derong also visited almond hulling plants, almond, pistachio, and walnut farms and production bases.
