Hull City Council has announced that essential repairs to Walker Street will commence next month.
The work will improve and repair the existing carriageway in Walker Street from Rawling Way to Quantock Close, for the benefit of road users and pedestrians.
The intention of the work is to resurface and reconstruct where the carriageway is deteriorating, to ensure the road provides a safe and even surface for traffic, and that it has adequate grip and skid resistance.
The work will start on Monday 6 May and is planned to be completed by Friday 28 June - weather depending.
To allow this work to be done safely, it will be undertaken under full road closure in three separate phases.
Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained throughout, with specific diversion plans in place for each phase. However, at times during the initial planing and final surfacing, access may be delayed for a short period of time.
A full diversion route for non-residents will also be in place using Rawling Way, Anlaby Road, and Icehouse Road, depending on the direction of travel.
Ian Cappleman, Highways Programme Manager at Hull City Council, said: "These are vital repairs which contribute to the Council's statutory duty to maintain the public highway, which will make the road surface safe and even for all road users and pedestrians.
"To carry out this work safely, there will be full road closures in place that will result in some disruption.
"We thank local residents and road users in advance for their patience while we carry out these essential works."
The scheme will be funded by Hull City Council's Highway Capital Programme and carried out by Wright Civil Engineering Limited on behalf of the Council.
