New regulations for fulfillment of tax obligations of organizers engaged in gaming activities

New regulations for fulfillment of tax obligations of organizers engaged in gaming activities

The Executive proposes amendments to the Laws on Lotteries and on Winning Games, Internet Winning Games and Casinos. The main regulations were presented by the Deputy Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Artur Manukyan at the sitting of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs on April 26.

According to the above-mentioned laws, in case of overdue obligations (including penalties and fines) in terms of taxes and other mandatory payments defined by law by the persons holding a license to organize lotteries, as well as winning games, internet winning games and casinos, the operation of the license is suspended.

The problem is that an existing business sometimes needs additional time to fulfill the above-mentioned requirement. When the obligation is formed, the tax body informs the authorized body about the delinquency, and this is the basis for suspending the operation of the license. Now the tax body has 5 days to inform. It is proposed to allow a 10-day period before suspending the license in order not to disrupt the normal course of the existing business. This will not apply to the fulfillment of the annual state tax obligations.

The law will enter into force on the 10th day following its official publication.

The issue has been endorsed by the Committee.
