PSA Joins the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in Occidental Mindoro

In its aim to bring government services closer to the Filipino people, the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair was held on 23 April 2024 in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro with the participation of regional offices of various government agencies, including the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The event was graced by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., underscoring the government's commitment to serving the nation diligently and effectively. The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair served as a platform for government agencies to showcase their dedication to improving the lives of Filipinos. From health and education to livelihood and social welfare programs, attendees had access to various services to enhance their well-being and foster community development for Mindoreños.

The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair encapsulated the spirit of bayanihan (community spirit) and solidarity, highlighting the power of collective action in building a nation that serves its citizens with excellence and compassion. The Provincial Statistical Office - Occidental Mindoro, headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Maribel L. Bernardo, provided PSA services such as PhilSys Step 2 registration with 32 clients served, 42 printed National IDs, and 6 recipients of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).

The PSA was also able to deliver civil registration service in Occidental Mindoro, a total of 320 transactions processed and 142 clients served. The Mindoreños who availed of the service were delighted because, for the first time, their requests for civil registry documents, such as birth, marriage, and death certificates, and certificates of no marriage (CENOMAR) were provided in just a few minutes thru the PSA CRS mobile outlet, which is an offsite and online facility that can accept, print, and release PSA issued documents and certifications in non-permanent locations. The Civil Registration Service from the Central Office manned the new CRS Mobile Application Team. This is the first time that Mindoreños living in San Jose have experienced such kind of service.

The Municipal Civil Registrars of Occidental Mindoro will lobby their Sangguniang Panlalawigan to provide a budget for holding quarterly Serbisyo Caravans and to bring government services closer to the people.

The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair is the country's biggest service caravan. It aims to provide major government services to less fortunate Filipinos in various communities across the country and features the government's flagship programs.
