State Police arrest two following Clifton Park Retail theft

On April 26, 2024, State Police of Clifton Park arrested Zyara A. Howard, 22, of Albany, NY, and Unyiah R. White, 22, of Albany, NY, each for Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Conspiracy in the fifth degree.

White was also charged with Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the third degree and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On April 26, 2024, at about 2:24 p.m., Troopers responded to Marshall's Home Goods in Clifton Park, NY, for the report of a theft in progress. Two suspects were witnessed fleeing in a vehicle. Surrounding patrols located the vehicle involved southbound on I-87 in the area of exit 8. When Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle being operated by White, shefailed to comply, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated in the area of Wolf Road in Colonie, NY, due to public safety concerns. A short time later, the vehicle was located stuck in traffic on Wolf Road, and both White and Howard were taken into custody. The investigation discovered that White and Howard allegedly worked together to steal more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from Marshall's Home Goods before fleeing. Fortunately, all of the stolen items were recovered from the suspect's vehicle.

Both were transported to SP Clifton Park for processing. They were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Clifton Park Town Court on May 22, 2024, and released.
