Final Beam Tops Out Appleton Public Library in Wisconsin

We are proud to have joined our partners in celebrating the installation of the last structural beam for the Appleton Public Library in Wisconsin.

SOM's Jason Fisher, Asiye Yukselen, Martin Rauber, and Zach Haney gathered with the community to sign a steel beam that now completes the building's expanded frame. This milestone marks an exciting moment for the transformed library building, which will soon enjoy a second life.

SOM's expansion and renovation of the Appleton Public Library emphasizes community connections, providing daylit spaces and sightlines and creating multipurpose spaces for visitors of all ages. The library has long been an institution that represents Appleton's dedication to learning, knowledge, and social responsibility. Reimagining and reviving the building reflects the values and strength of the library as the heart of this community.
