Greif's Global Supply Chain (GSC) program is responsible for reducing Greif's impact on the Earth in a myriad of ways, from responsibly sourcing its raw materials to optimizing its logistics footprint. As a global manufacturer, our impacts extend beyond our operations, and we are responsible for engaging suppliers to ensure they are committed to the same sustainability standards and values.
In Fiscal Year 2023, GSC kicked off its Sustainability Roadmap. The vision of this roadmap is to execute activities that create an ethical supply chain that advances Greif's sustainable growth. The roadmap has three key pillars:
Following the roadmap kick-off, GSC colleagues put their heads down and began executing great work on sustainability projects. There are too many to be highlighted, but below is a snapshot of some activities.
Fifty-seven percent of Greif's Suppliers (by spend) were assessed for their supply chain sustainability performance using the tool EcoVadis. This puts us well on our way toward achieving our 2030 goal of evaluating 80 percent of our total spendwith suppliers.

Greif's SCOC is a critical document that outlines the behaviors required of our suppliers. In FY2023, GSC ensured that all purchase orders, regardless of region, include our Supplier Code of Conduct, which is available in fourteen languages.
